Leadership Changes Announced for Dow Louisiana Public Affairs

Plaquemine, Louisiana - August 30, 2007

Donna Carville, Government and Public Affairs Leader for The Dow Chemical Company in Louisiana, will now dedicate 100 percent of her time to lead government affairs and public policy issues for Dow in the state. She will also monitor and respond as needed to public policy issues and trade and business associations affecting Dow in several other states.

Stacey Chiasson, current Community Relations Manager for Dow’s Plaquemine site, has been named to succeed Carville as Public Affairs Leader for the integrated sites of Dow in Louisiana.

Due to the increasingly complicated legislative environment in Louisiana, it has become very important to utilize Donna Carville’s years of experience and well-established relationships on a full-time basis to help further Dow’s state legislative priorities, said Dow Louisiana Operations Site Director Sharon Cole. She said, “Dow has 20 percent of its global assets in Louisiana and we’re also one of the largest companies in the state. Donna’s full dedication to state government affairs will bring a tremendous value to Dow’s ability to continue earning our license to operate and sell our value-added products.”

Carville has been in Government and Public Affairs since 1998, and served on the core team to develop Dow’s 2015 Contributing to Community Success goal as well as interim Implementation Leader for the Sustainable Chemistry goal. She began her Dow career as a chemist and has held positions in Research & Development, Technical Service & Development, manufacturing, Environmental Health and Safety, and Logistics prior to joining Public Affairs. In the community, Carville serves on the boards of Public Affairs Research Council, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge, Dow Westside YMCA and the Baton Rouge Area Chamber of Commerce.

New Dow Louisiana Public Affairs Leader Stacey Chiasson will continue to work closely with Carville to maintain and build the internal and external relationships that are so critical to Dow’s community and business success. Chiasson will lead Dow’s Public Affairs team located at Louisiana Operations in Plaquemine and St. Charles Operations in Hahnville and Norco. She will also oversee public affairs support for additional Dow Louisiana sites in Grand Bayou, Greensburg and Sterlington.

Chiasson came to Dow in 2006 as Community Relations Manager for the Plaquemine site. She had nine previous years of leadership experience in non-profit organizations, state government, and private business and industry.
