Dow Donates STYROFOAM Insulation to Miracle Mansion Build

Louisiana - March 27, 2007

Dow’s STYROFOAM™ insulation is playing a large part in the construction of this years Children’s Miracle Network Miracle Mansion fund raiser. The Dow Chemical Company has donated $3,800 worth, 288 sheets, of Dow’s STYROFOAM extruded polystyrene to insulate the house being built in the Lexington Estates Development near Bluebonnet at Nicolson Drive. 

The Children’s Miracle Network is a non-profit alliance of 170 children’s hospitals dedicated to saving the lives of children by raising funds across the country.  The selling of raffle tickets for the Miracle Mansion is one of the network’s major annual fund raisers that is made possible by donations from area businesses.  One-hundred percent of the money raised goes directly to OLOL Children’s Hospital to purchase life-giving equipment, expand resources and help local children receive care close to their homes and families.

“Dow Building Solutions is happy to have the chance to donate STYROFOAM insulation to the Children's Miracle Network to use on the Miracle Mansion,” said Dal Daigle of the Dow Building Solutions Department. “We are so proud to help support this worthy cause and are hopeful this small donation will help St. Jude continue their life-saving work until childhood cancer is eradicated.”   

Dow’s donation of the STYROFOAM insulation not only helps offset construction costs, but will help the future owner of the mansion save energy and money. The STYROFOAM insulation will save 12 times more energy in the first year than the energy required to produce it. 

The drawing to win the Children’s Miracle Mansion will take place during the 2007 Children’s Miracle Network Broadcast on June 3 at 4:45 p.m. on WBRZ-Channel 2.
