Mike Matlock of the Dow Chemical Company was recently named Volunteer Executive of the Year at the 2006 Corporate Volunteer Council Awards luncheon held at Boudreaux’s in Baton Rouge.

Mike Matlock, Site Maintenance Leader for Dow’s Louisiana Operations and Global Maintenance and Reliability Leader for a Dow global business, has played a critical role in developing and encouraging employee volunteer involvement.  He provides his leadership, time, and sweat-equity for numerous community outreach activities throughout the year.

In 2005 alone, Mike gave up his time and energy to support numerous projects, including the Capital Area United Way, Habitat for Humanity and the March of Dimes WalkAmerica, just to name a few.

The Corporate Volunteer Council’s mission is to promote, foster, and encourage corporate volunteerism among corporations and businesses within the area.  The Council is a diverse group of companies that network to share ideas and information on corporate volunteer programs and issues of community concern.
