Community Involvement

Dow believes the principles of sustainable development will ensure our world's economic, societal and environmental advancement today - without compromising the quality of life for future generations. Therefore, we focus our community outreach efforts on those programs and projects that align with sustainability to build better communities where our employees work and live.

Dow volunteers are actively involved in Habitat for Humanity, a program through which partner families are able to realize the American dream of owning a home.  Here, a group of Dow employees work together to construct one of 4 houses built in Plaquemine, Louisiana during the “Beat the Heat Blitz Build” in June.  Two of the 4 homes built during the “Beat the Heat Blitz Build” were for families affected by Hurricane Katrina who relocated from New Orleans to Plaquemine after the storm.

Building homes through Habitat for Humanity, collecting food for needy families, and supporting education initiatives that help students become leaders were just a few of the projects we focused on this year.
