East Meets West at the 20th Annual Eat Your Heart Out FUND-raiser
Midland Country Club Opens its Doors To Serve the General Public

Midland, MI - August 28, 2006

The Dow Chemical Company and the United Way Volunteer Center are joining forces again for the 20th Annual Eat Your Heart Out FUND-raiser on Tuesday, August 29, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Midland Country Club. This is the first time since the 1930s that the Club has opened its doors to the public.

Leaders from Dow’s Michigan Operations and Corporate Headquarters have volunteered to work the event, which is themed “Volunteers Across America - East Meets West.” The volunteers will be dressed in theme-appropriate attire. Come see your favorite fish, crab, lobster, fisherman, pirate or cowboy! There will be a variety of menu choices for adults ($7.95 to $14.95) and children ($2.95) that reflect the East Meets West theme.

The activities and entertainment include pony rides, an interactive petting zoo, an inflatable obstacle course, a golf chipping contest, face painting, other children’s games, pinata breaking every hour, and live music courtesy of Empty Pockets. This is a casual event, so please dress comfortably!

Twenty five percent of the cost of all meal sales and 100 percent of all tips and game ticket sales will be donated to the Volunteer Center to support volunteerism in the community.

The Eat Your Heart Out FUND-raiser will have five locations this year:
