Dow is offering a series of small, neighborhood discussion groups with residents living along the Tittabawassee River to help guide Dow’s efforts regarding the dioxin situation.
Dow wants the input of those most affected – the floodplain residents themselves – particularly since some of the proposed actions may take place on privately-owned property.
“Some residents have suggested they would feel more comfortable speaking up in smaller, informal groups,” said Community Relations leader Garret Geer. “We hope this approach will help encourage residents of all viewpoints to share their thoughts freely and candidly.”
Dow will share the findings and use the input to guide and refine the short- and long-term actions to resolve the dioxin situation.
“We are looking forward to the opportunity to hear residents’ thoughts and continuing our dialogue with them about how we move forward,” Geer added.
