The manufacturing processes used at Dow Ludington are operated by experienced and highly- trained operating technicians and utilize state-of-the-art process safety systems. Our workforce represents a cumulative total of 2,594 years of service and expertise working safely at the Ludington site, with an average of 21.6 years of Dow experience per person. Our process safety systems include computer control and continuous monitoring of process conditions,routine audits and process safety risk analysis, evaluation and mitigation, just to name a few. Our plants are equipped with real-time computer control systems, that sound an alarm and automatically shutdown equipment if conditions vary outside of normal and acceptable ranges.
Dow Ludington has dramatically reduced employee and contractor OSHA reportable injuries and illnesses over the past decade. Since base year 1996, Dow people have achieved a >90% reduction in workplace injuries. In addition, the severity of workplace injuries has also been significantly reduced.
