VPP Star Shines at La Porte

The Dow La Porte facility is proud to announce that it has been recertified by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star Award, the highest safety and health recognition granted by the agency.

The La Porte site was first approved for the VPP Star program in 1994 and was recertified in 1997 and 2001. To qualify for VPP Star, programs must be in place that promote worksite safety and health. A cooperative relationship must exist between management, employees and OSHA. To obtain VPP status a facility must demonstrate exemplary safety and health achievements.

The La Porte site is a leading producer of polyurethanes and intermediates widely used in the apparel, automotive appliance and building construction markets.

"We are honored and pleased to maintain our star status in VPP. This demonstrates the dedication and commitment of our employees to operating our facility safely," said Ernie Kremling, site leader.

Congratulations to employees at Dow La Porte for a job well done.
