Dow’s Varennes, Quebec site is located in the greater Montreal area on
the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. The site houses two production units:
one of STYROFOAM™ brand insulation, which started up in 1969, and one
of emulsion polymers, which began in 1981. The site was developed in the Montreal
area because of local demand for the products and easy access to a large market
in the northeast.
