The Toronto, Ontario site of Dow Canada produces STYROFOAM™ brand insulation and buoyancy billets. The 27-acre site serves the Ontario residential and commercial construction market.

The most visible example of a Dow consumer product in Canada is STYROFOAM brand insulation. The highly automated manufacturing operations in Toronto produce a number of different STYROFOAM brand products, enabling Canadians to enjoy more comfortable, warmer living environments. These insulating products also lower energy bills through greater efficiency, contributing to reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. You may see buoyancy billets made in Toronto used at the cottage in floating boat docks.

The plant is located near the intersection of highways 400 and 401, excellent for serving our Ontario customers. Some products are also shipped to the northeastern United States. The plant uses STYRON™ brand polystyrene resin, also made by The Dow Chemical Company, which is extruded into boards. The boards are trimmed to specifications, and the trimmings are recycled.

Dow Canada’s Toronto plant proudly supports a variety of local organizations, including the United Way, Habitat for Humanity and local school healthy snack programs.
