Manufacturing Site

Seal Sands, Teesside, was acquired as part of Dow's acquisition of Hampshire Chemical in 1998. The ownership of Hampshire Chemical was transferred to Dow in January 1999, and prior to this Hampshire had operated at the Seal Sands site for 25 years.

The Seals Sands site is situated five miles from Middlesbrough and is involved in the manufacture of two main products: chelating agents and specialty chemicals. About 10 percent of the material produced on site is used internally as raw materials for other products.
