Dow Chemical Applauds Announcement on the US-Russia Bilateral Agreement for Russia's World Trade Organization (WTO) AccessionMoscow - November 14, 2006 The Dow Chemical Company congratulates both Russian and American trade negotiators on concluding in principle a comprehensive and commercially meaningful bilateral agreement – enabling the next steps for Russia's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). With operations in Russia since 1974, Dow supports commitment from both governments to move forward on a mutually-beneficial agreement. Russia's final accession to the WTO will demonstrate firm commitment to on-going reforms and improving the strong domestic investment climate. “As we work to strengthen our presence in key growth geographies around the world, Russia's commitments on trade liberalization are extremely encouraging," stated Adriaan van den Berge, General Manager Dow in Russia. "These efforts demonstrate Russia's openness to investment and opportunities for multinationals and Russian companies to partner in support of further growth of this already dynamic domestic market", van den Berge added. Dow is committed to supporting these final steps. As a member of the Coalition for US-Russia Trade, Dow will work closely with the U.S. Congress to grant Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) to secure the benefits of Russia’s WTO accession across the business community.About The Dow Chemical Company Dow is a diversified chemical company that harnesses the power of science and technology to improve living daily.
