Since the construction of the site started on the lower reaches of the River Elbe in October 1969, the facility has grown into one of the largest and most important industrial organizations in the Stade region. The site covers about 550 hectares. Here a staff of around 1500 people produces a large variety of chemicals for worldwide distribution.
Over 2.7 billion Euros have already been invested in the location. Today 16 plants are producing about 3 million tons of commodities and specialty chemicals annually. The products leaving the site can be found in hundreds of everyday commodities, which form an essential part of our daily lives. To manufacture these products safely and in an environmentally friendly and rational manner, the organization relies on well-qualified and highly specialized staff. For this reason, a combination of good basic apprenticeship and advanced training schemes, as well as a staffing and company policy with a focus on the individual are all taken as a matter of course at Dow.
