Dow opened its first European sales office in Zurich, Switzerland in 1952. Today the business center for Dow in Europe is in Horgen, Switzerland.

Dow manufactures products for a wide range of markets that are vital to human progress, including food, transportation, health and medicine, personal and home care, and building and construction, among others. Ninety percent of the products Dow sells in Europe are made in Europe.

For over a decade, we have embraced and advocated Responsible Care® - a voluntary industry-wide commitment to safely handle our chemicals from inception in the laboratory to ultimate disposal.

REACH - the Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals - gives greater responsibility to the European chemicals industry to manage the risks from chemicals and to provide safety information on these substances. As chemical manufacturers, suppliers and customers across Europe and beyond will be affected by REACH, understanding this new regulation is critical.
