The Merak site consists of two plants. The township is an industrial area of more than 35 factories. The Merak site is located on the coast, adjacent to community villages. A community outreach program has been in place with activities such as employment of local people, scholarships, site open-day, health promotion, clean water supply and domestic sewage facility (in planning).
