Applications

ETHOCELâ„¢ ethylcellulose polymers are used as binders in printing inks and contribute to abrasion-resistant dry ink films. These polymers are very compatible with many solvents, pigments, and other resins. ETHOCEL is also used as the base resin in solvent-free hot melt inks.

ETHOCEL polymers offer ink formulators a number of essential qualities. They dissolve readily in most organic solvents. The polymers are compatible with other ink components such as resins, solvents, and pigments. ETHOCEL polymers also form tough, abrasion-resistant ink films upon drying.

In formulation, ETHOCEL polymers offer processing versatility not always available with other resins and can be used in conventional solvent-borne ink systems. The thermoplastic nature of ETHOCEL polymers makes an ideal choice in heat transfer or hot melt ink systems.
