STEM Ambassadors

We believe the passion and expertise of our people serve as our strongest tool in contributing to a robust STEM workforce pipeline.

In 2014, we formally launched Dow STEM Ambassadors, a group of trained employees who are getting out into strategic Dow communities to inspire students and support teachers. By the end of 2015, we are proud to have more than 1600 Ambassadors across 17 sites in 6 countries.

School day activities may include career talks, guest lecturing, science experiments, mentoring, Dow site tours, being a teacher partner, and science research. There are a range of after-school activities led by our Ambassadors, including participation in FIRST Robotics teams, conducting You Be The Chemist competitions, participating in science fairs or skilled trade/career nights, coaching or judging competitions, or elevating the important of STEM in our communities through thought leadership.

The STEM Ambassador program directly aligns to Dow's 2025 Sustainability Goals and more specifically, the Engaging Employees for Impact goal – where Dow people are committing to positively impact the lives of one billion people.
