Chris Doremus is the Operations Leader for the Oxide Derivatives Manufacturing Facility in Seadrift, Texas. In this role, he is responsible for administrative leadership of 20 operators and fills the production coordination role for five operating units which produce glycol ethers and heavy esters for the Oxygenated Solvents business as well as ethanol amines for the Amines and Chelants business. He is team leader of the plant responsible care team, and promotes the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility through active mentoring and coaching.
Prior to being named Oxide Derivatives Operations Leader, Chris developed a diverse background in Manufacturing and Engineering with experience in project management, operations, process automation, process safety, TICA and Six Sigma. Chris started his career at Dow with 3 co-op assignments and 3 rotations in the operations assignments program. Chris then worked as a Process Automation Engineer and Discipline Activity Specialist for Engineering Solutions, as an Improvement Specialist for the Midland METHOCEL™ facility, and most recently as an Improvement Specialist and Technology Associate for the ETHOCEL™ facility in Midland.
Chris earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in chemical engineering from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. He is a certified MAIC and DFSS Six Sigma black belt.
