ELEVATE™ SAGD SOR Improvement Additives
The efficiency of SAGD production is measured by the steam to oil ratio (SOR). Dow has developed testing capabilities and a product line of additives to improve the oil production rate and total oil recovery over time and decrease the steam to oil ratios. These volatile surface active materials work to improve drainage resulting in reduced SOR.
Ion Exchange Resins and Polymeric Adsorbents
Steam based thermal EOR such as SAGD and CSS necessitate the need for large water recycling and treatment to remove organic and inorganic contaminants. Dow’s ion exchange resins and polymeric absorbents act as “chemical sponges” are ideally suited for selective removal of contaminants from water and other liquids, particularly in produced water treatment for boiler feeds.
