NORKOOL™ Desitherm is a complete inhibitor package that buffers the system’s pH and reduces glycol degradation protecting the entire gas dehydration system against rapid corrosion. For systems which face the challenge of salt contamination NORKOOL Desitherm HS inhibited TEG-based desiccant provides a higher solubility for salts helping the efficiency of the dehydrator and helping to prevent shutdown. These products are applicable in a variety of applications including: gas pipeline heaters, gas processing, waste heat recovery systems, air dehydration, Natural Gas Storage and gas field gathering.
NORKOOL Desitherm™ Desiccant
NORKOOL Desitherm Desiccant is used to remove water from natural gas. Equipped for use in extreme temperatures, this process can result in the formation of organic acids, such as glycolic, formic and acetic acids, in a process known as glycol degradation. When pH reaches an unstable level it can cause pure TEG to become corrosive. NORKOOL Desitherm is designed to withstand higher temperatures, prevent degradation of products and help systems to stay in the safe zone.

Traditional triethylene glycol (TEG) solvents have extremely low solubility for salts. Dow offers NORKOOL Desitherm™ HS Desiccant, an innovative, inhibited TEG-based desiccant with a higher solubility for salts than pure TEG.
