Dow Recognized for World-Class Customer Excellence
Dow Building Solutions (DBS), a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE:DOW), remains the only recipient of the prestigious “Partners of Choice” Award from David Weekley Homes to receive straight “A, A” ratings in quality and service for twelve consecutive years, the longest consecutive winner of more than 200 participating companies. David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held home builder, has been evaluating suppliers since 2004 with its world-class Supplier Evaluation Platform.
Based on the idea customer excellence is continuously earned, David Weekley Homes began its supplier evaluation platform to measure performances in reliability, communication, timeliness, follow-through and other critical areas to the business relationship. At the heart of the process is the “National Trading Partners Survey,” which is distributed through more than 1,000 of the company’s cross-functional team members, ranging from top executives to accounting. The result of this rigorous process has been improved service, channel costs and a heightened degree of homeowner satisfaction.
“2016 marks an important year for both David Weekley Homes and Dow. With it being our 40th anniversary of building award-winning homes, and Dow’s 75th anniversary since its catalyst invention of STYROFOAM™, we each have something special to celebrate about,” said Bill Justus, vice president of supply chain services for David Weekley Homes and primary architect behind the home builder’s world-class evaluation system. “David Weekley Homes is pleased to continue recognizing Dow for its outstanding achievements both within our business and the industry.”
Dow’s commitment to continuous improvements each year has enabled it to continue exceeding market demands. Lead by its thermal, moisture, vapor and air solutions, Dow provides quality products to the industry through its brand products including STYROFOAM™ Brand XPS Insulation, WEATHERMATE™ Weather Barrier Solutions, and GREAT STUFF™ Air Sealants.
“This year Dow has continued to align our partnerships to our customers by executing our promise of providing world class service in the field,” said Matthew Marchel, DBS business director. “Being the only recipient of this award for 12 consecutive years is a testament to Dow’s commitment to its customers and the industry. 75 years ago Dow revolutionized the market with its invention of STYROFOAM™, and today we continue to provide innovative solutions to customers through our people year after year.”
