TYRIN Chlorinated Polyethylene
Around the world, TYRIN™ chlorinated polyethylene offers excellent flexibility and resistance to ignition, chemicals, heat, low temperatures and weathering at a low overall system cost. TYRIN™ can be used as a base polymer or as an additive to polyvinyl chloride (PVC), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), styrene acrylonitrile (SAN), high density polyethylene (HDPE), and polypropylene (PP) for a wide range of applications spanning both thermoplastic and thermoset chemistries.
Applications:
- Automotive Hose and Tube
- TYRIN™ elastomers are used in automotive "rubber" applications including power steering, engine oil cooler, and transmission oil cooler hoses; fuel hose covers; vacuum and emission tubing; and in automotive air management system "air ducts".
- TYRIN™ EXT 1000 CM is designed to accept higher levels of filler and oil than traditional CM grades, while maintaining excellent physical properties.
- Building and Construction (Vinyl Impact Modification)
- TYRIN™ thermoplastic resins are high performing, cost effective, impact modifiers in rigid PVC applications, especially window profiles, siding and pipe.
- TYRIN resins offer excellent low temperature properties, high filler level acceptance, resistance to weathering and excellent compatibility with a broad range of formulation ingredients.
- TYRIN resins are also used as modifiers for ABS, SAN, HDPE, and PP, adding both impact strength and ignition resistance.
- Other Applications
- Industrial Hoses
- Miscellaneous Rubber Goods
- Ignition Resistant ABS Compounds
- Flexible Thermoplastic Sheeting
