ENLITE™ Modified Polyolefin Elastomer (MPE) thermoplastic resins are used as impact modifiers in rigid PVC compounds for building and construction applications, providing excellent performance and economics for outdoor applications like vinyl siding, fence, and decking. When compared to other weatherable impact modifiers, ENLITE™ MPE features a lower glass transition temperature rubber, resulting in enhanced low temperature impact, and a greater volume of rubber domains per pound, which results in lower usage levels required to achieve impact resistance. Compounds modified with ENLITE™ MPE accept high mineral filler levels and demonstrate ductile failure behavior under severe impact loads. ENLITE offers a distinct, unmatched balance of high physical and processing performance at an overall low system cost.
