CELLOSIZE™ Hydroxyethyl Cellulose offers in latex paint formulations, ease of solution, low-foaming, thickening efficiency, and excellent color development and acceptance. Its non-ionic character contributes stabilization over a wide pH range and permits broad formulating latitude. Enzyme resistant grades (ER-grades) of CELLOSIZE Hydroxyethyl Cellulose are often chosen by formulators to improve paint viscosity stability in the presence of cellulase type enzymes.

WALOCEL™ M Methylcellulose provides well balanced properties to emulsion paints. Formulations that contain Walocel™ M grades are easy to apply as they have a creamy consistency with a high wet film thickness and low spatter tendency when applied using a roller or brush.

  • WALOCEL™ MW grades are hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose (HEMC) thickeners. The strength of these cellulosic thickener grades is their good spatter resistance, good film build and the good leveling properties.
  • WALOCEL™ XM grades are modified hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose (HEMC) thickeners. WALOCEL™ grades were developed to offer an excellent balance between thickening efficiency and spatter and leveling performance combined with a lower risk of foaming.

WALOCEL™ CRT Carboxymethylcellulose is a polyanionic thickener that can create a more thixotropic rheology compared to the Cellosize™ or Walocel™ M products. Walocel™ C grades have a low foaming tendency and a good color development and acceptance in paint. It is often used as thickener in silicate paints.
