Settlement Between AkzoNobel and Dow Wolff Cellulosics Completed

Bomlitz, Germany - December 29, 2008

Dow Wolff Cellulosics announced today that AkzoNobel and Dow Wolff Cellulosics have settled a litigation concerning alleged patent infringement by former Wolff Cellulosics entities. Effective January 1, 2009 Dow Wolff Cellulosics will be granted the license to sell Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) products under the brand name WALOCEL™ CRT for application in processed meat as well as fruit based products. This agreement is related to the following grades: WALOCEL CRT 50000 07 and WALOCEL CRT 60000 07.
