New Jersey - March 12, 2008
At a ceremony at Johnson &Johnson in Raritan, New Jersey , DWC Pharma achieved a major milestone in customer service and relations in moving from being just a supplier to the #1 Chemical Supplier at Alza Corporation, Global Pharmaceutical Sourcing Group, a Johnson & Johnson Company. Martin Sonntag accepted the award, together with Eunice Heath, Philip Pilnik and Lora Crim.
The core team that achieved this milestone was comprised of many DWC support people, led by Lora Crim - Account Executive, Chris Vieau – Global Supply Chain Manager, Brenda Bergeron – Customer Service, Karen Coppens – R&D, and Russ Geis – Quality.
DWC is the first chemical company to ever receive the Gold Vendor status, a rigorous measurement by J&J of quality, service level, continuity and support, level of technical & regulatory support, innovation, and purchase cost vs. reference commodity index. Gold vendors must score 98% or higher in every category. This was accomplished by using all 14 of the elements of the Process of Excellence Analysis Toolkit over a 5 year period.
The immediate benefits of this achievement include Dow being awarded the UCARE polymer business in North America, a 5-year SENTRY™ POLYOX™ contract worth $42MM and being invited as a “Strategic Supplier” to the J&J Pharmaceutical Innovations Days conference.
