Coatings
WALSRODER™ Nitrocellulose products are often used as binders for wood coatings. They are odorless, non-toxic, monomer-free, and offer excellent compatibility with other binders, plasticizers and solubility in many organic solvents.
Coatings made with nitrocellulose products are easy to process and apply, and result in clear, transparent films. Because of their unique properties, they can also be used in automotive repair paints and industrial coatings, nail polish, and coatings for paper and leather products.
Printing Inks
Walsroder Nitrocellulose is used in liquid printing inks, such as printing plastic films and aluminum foils intended mainly for food packaging. A crucial factor for food packaging is that nitrocellulose does not contain any toxic monomers.
Printing inks containing nitrocellulose result in graphics with high brilliance and high resolution. The rapid and complete solvent evaporation obtainable with nitrocellulose-based printing inks allows high printing speeds to be achieved on industrial 8 or 10 color printing machines.
