Kansas State University Golf Course Management Research Foundation – First Tee
First Tee is a national initiative aiming to blend leadership and academics into an appreciation for golf. Students receive academic help, are taught leadership principles, and learn the fundamentals of playing competitive golf. Dow Promise provides support for the academic component of the program, by helping to sponsor mathematic enrichment programs at local universities. Additionally, minority youth from communities near our sites, who would not have access to a golf facility or to golf lessons, are awarded an opportunity to learn from the best golfers in the country, as well as receive life skills training from University staff, at the Earl Woods National Youth Golf Academy at Colbert Hills on the campus of Kansas State University.
