Baldwin Community Schools
Dow volunteers participate in an e-mentoring (electronic mentoring) program with middle school students in the Baldwin area. Through e-mail, mentors are involved with their students’ academic and social development activities, while helping them enhance their computer and Internet skills.
Midland Children’s Museum – Kid Domain
Have you seen a museum without walls in the Baldwin community? It travels within Michigan and may be coming to an elementary school near you. Dow Promise funded the creation of this museum – one without walls – to give students a hands-on opportunity to learn archaeological skills and identify skeletal structures and animal hides of animals native to Michigan.
Plastics Van (Plasti-Van)
Can you think of a hundred different uses for plastic? Targeted toward students in grades 3-12, the Plasti-Van travels around the state to educate and encourage the use of plastics and polymers in society. Dow Promise helps to finance the implementation of Plasti-Van in the Baldwin Community Schools and the Boys and Girls Club.
