2020 Vision Foundation – F.O.C.U.S. Tutorial Program
Standardized tests play an important role in a student’s education, and can impact class selections and opportunities for scholarships. The Adults in Action Program helps middle school and high school students prepare for standardized Texas assessment tests. Dow Promise volunteers work as tutors and mentors for students to help them score well on their tests.
Learning for Life Club – Bess Brannen Elementary
The Learning for Life Club is an initiative sponsored by Bess Brannen Elementary and local neighborhood partners for students living in a low-income neighborhood in Lake Jackson. Dow Promise volunteers work with students having academic challenges in an after-school setting, and provide tutorials and help with homework.
Brazosport Independent School District – Brazosport High
The Study Hall Program at Brazosport High School actively engages students with the help of volunteers from Dow Promise. Volunteers provide homework assistance, tutorials, and help students prepare for future careers and advanced studies.
Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME)
What was your favorite part of science class? Do you like to take appliances apart to see how they work, or would you rather explore chemical compounds? The TAME exhibit visits middle school students and asks questions like these while exposing them to career options related to science and engineering. Dow Promise actively supports this program by providing financial and volunteer support for this engineering exhibit, which travels throughout Texas.
