| Detroit Lions Academy – Keys to Success | |
| The Detroit Lions Academy is proof of what can happen when an NFL football team and major corporations come together to make a difference in area students’ lives. Dow financially supports Keys to Success, a program designed to make students and staff aware of how their attitudes and temperament impact their ability to learn. This program has been implemented at the Detroit Lions Academy to give students skills to control their emotions while in and out of school. Financial support from Dow Promise also enabled the Detroit Lions Academy to build a hands-on science lab to make learning fun. Employees from Dow Automotive and Dow’s Southfield office volunteer as mentors for middle-school students who have difficulties in a traditional school setting. Students who have learning, behavioral and attendance problems are beginning to love school and learning, with the help of their Dow mentors. |

| Detroit Public Library Summer Reading Program | |
| Kids in the Detroit area get together every-other Saturday during the summer to take part in reading program, hosted by Dow Promise and the African-American Network of The Dow Chemical Company (located in Auburn Hills, Michigan). Approximately 10 volunteers meet with kids ages 4 to 13 to read stories, engage in lively discussions and enjoy treats afterwards. Kids are rewarded for their efforts with trips to the circus, Detroit Tigers baseball games, and certificates at the conclusion of the summer program. |
