| African-American Academic Achievement Committee (Four AC/4AC) | |
| What do homework, career days and a national engineering conference have in common? They’re all part of Dow Promise volunteers’ involvement in Four AC. Volunteers from Dow spend time with local students to give them help with homework in after school programs. Career days also help to give students ideas of what different careers involve, and Dow volunteers also participate in these events to talk about their jobs and careers in various areas of science. In addition, Dow Promise provides financial support for local youth to attend a national engineering conference sponsored by the National Society of Black Engineers. |

| Solutions for At Risk Youth – Pittsburg Firefighter Youth Academy | |
| Saturday mornings involve more than cartoons for some high school students in the Pittsburg area. The Pittsburg Firefighter Youth Academy, a Saturday morning tutorial and mentoring program, recruits students to enhance their academic performance, consider careers in public service, and practice self-discipline. Dow Promise volunteers support this program by helping students with their homework and acting as positive role models and mentors for low-income, at risk youth. |
