Abstract:
Hypromellose (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) cellulose ethers have been used globally for the coating of tablets, capsules, and beaded dosage forms for over 50 years. They have global pharmacopeial acceptance along with superior film forming properties.

This presentation will give an overview of a new METHOCEL hypromellose being developed by Dow Wolff Cellulosics for film coating applications. All polymer properties comply with existing global pharmacopeias. Advantages include the ability to spray high-solids coating solutions resulting in reduced manufacturing times, low solution color and excellent film clarity.
