Science in Society
Supporting transformational initiatives that make a difference for students and academic institutions and increase interest in careers and opportunities linked to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Contributing to Community Success
Promotes job creation, permanent improvement of social infrastructure within a disadvantaged or underprivileged sector of the community or group, and/or provides funding for materials or tools which will be widely available and offer long-term benefits.
Sustainability
Enhances or protects the natural environment, raises awareness of environmental issues among a broad public audience, and/or links to partnerships that demonstrate the value of sustainability and Dow’s products to society and the environment.
Innovation
Promoting innovative development and/or application of technology/business models that relate to Dow’s solutions focus on world challenges.
Who We Support
Applicants must be charitable or non-profit organizations with a 501(c)(3) designation. Faith-based non-profit organizations may qualify, provided their proposed project is for the benefit of the community as a whole.
Dow limits general operating support and will not consider applications submitted by for-profit businesses, religious organizations for the sole benefit of the organization, sports teams, political organizations or candidates, labor unions, homeowners’ associations, or individuals. Projects and programs will be considered which support the guidelines below.
Process and Timing
Grant and sponsorship requests will be accepted online throughout the year, but will only be reviewed during three grant cycles detailed below. All funding decisions will be announced to applicants within eight weeks of the application deadline. Funding will be processed 10 – 12 weeks after this decision. Any requests received after the deadline will be considered during the next grant cycle.
