In response to customer demand, Dow Automotive researchers have developed IMPAXX™ energy absorbing foam, which can be found in nearly two million passenger cars worldwide. It is also a required safety feature designed into the NASCAR “Car of Tomorrow.”

The foam is designed to absorb energy on impact and cushion the blow that a vehicle occupant receives. In addition to its safety features, the foam is 100% recyclable, provides design flexibility and assembly advantages, conserves weight and improves vehicle fuel economy. It also improves occupant comfort by offering increased passenger space.
