Dow Coating Solutions, a market facing business of The Dow Chemical Company ("Dow"), showcased natural oil polyols (NOPs) for waterborne polyurethane dispersions at PaintIndia 2008.

Natural oil polyols, saturated aliphatic polyester polyols with very low viscosities at room temperatures, are used in the production of polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) with low volatile organic compounds (VOCs). N-Methylpyrrolidone (NMP)-free PUDs, prepared with NOPs, provide coatings with superior physical properties, such as hardness and abrasion resistance, high hydrophobocity and exceptional hydrolytic and acid resistance.
