Wendy Hoenig Joins NPCA’s New Science and Technology Committee

Washington, D.C. - February 22, 2008

The National Paint & Coatings Association (NPCA) is pleased to announce that Wendy Hoenig, Dow Coatings Solutions’ Vice President of Research and Development, has joined its new Science and Technology Committee. The committee has been established to guide the association in its goal of becoming the leading provider of science and technology information and educational programs to the paint and coatings industry, its leadership, its customers, its employees, and other key stakeholders.

The Science and Technology Committee will not only gather and report relevant and up-to-date scientific and technical information and services, but will advance understanding and awareness of paint and coatings technologies in all forums.  A major emphasis in designing the committee and seeking members was the assurance that new science and technology program elements are designed by the industry experts responsible for productive science and technology research that also supports the “business case.”

“We’re honored and excited to have Wendy on our team in engaging the scientific and technical community,” said NPCA’s Dr. Michael Morgan, Director of Science and Technology. “This committee will steer NPCA in a new direction as an authoritative voice in the science and technology arena, and aligns perfectly with our latest effort to provide the coatings industry with a world class technical forum, the American Coatings Conference, where Wendy will be one of two keynote speakers. The conference will feature exceptional scientific and technical education, as well as related peer to peer interaction opportunities.”

NPCA’s Science and Technology Committee will hold its first formal meeting this spring in Washington, DC.

NPCA is a voluntary, nonprofit trade association representing paint and coatings manufacturers, raw materials suppliers and distributors. As the preeminent organization representing the paint and coatings industry in the United States, NPCA’s primary role is to serve as ally and advocate on legislative, regulatory, and judicial issues at the federal, state and local levels.
