Barry Crawford Global Manufacturing Director Dow Coating Materials |
Barry Crawford is Global Manufacturing Director for Dow Coating Materials, a global business unit of The Dow Chemical Company. He assumed his current role following the acquisition of Rohm and Haas by Dow in 2009.
Crawford joined Rohm and Haas as an engineer in 1988, and participated in the start-up of the Skane plant in Jarrow, England. At the conclusion of the start-up, he became production engineer for Biocides, and later moved to the U.S. as a research engineer in Spring House, Pennsylvania. After five years in research, Crawford relocated to the Philadelphia plant as a production manager and later became plant manager. Subsequently, he was named global manufacturing manager for Inorganic and Specialty Solutions (ISS).
In November of 2002, Crawford moved to Architectural and Functional Coatings, with responsibility for all North America plants and the associated supply chain organization. In June 2008, Barry assumed the role of global operations director for Paint and Coating Materials, including functional responsibilities for manufacturing and supply chain, as well as leadership of Specialty Materials Process Technology (SMPT).
Crawford holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. He is married with two children and currently resides in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.
