Joe Cavallaro Director, Human Resources Dow Coating Materials |
Joe Cavallaro is Director of Human Resources (HR) for Dow Coating Materials, a global business unit of The Dow Chemical Company. He is responsible for the unit’s HR strategy and operations globally, including compensation, staffing, performance management, succession planning and leadership development. Cavallaro began his current role following the acquisition of Rohm and Haas by Dow in 2009. He joined Rohm and Haas in 2000, serving in various HR leadership roles, most recently as director of Global Compensation and Benefits.
Prior to joining Rohm and Haas, Cavallaro held several compensation and executive compensation positions for Mobil Oil Corporation, and he participated on the HR integration team in support of the Exxon/Mobil merger. Earlier in his career, Cavallaro worked for several HR consulting firms, including Towers Perrin and the Hay Group.
Cavallaro holds a bachelor's degree in public administration from Virginia Tech and a master's of business administration in management from George Mason University. He also completed the Wharton School's Executive Development Program. Cavallaro is a member of World at Work and serves on the Board of Directors of the Penjerdel Employee Benefits and Compensation Association (PEBA).
He and his wife, Trish, live in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, with their two boys.
