Dow has been operating in Chile for more than 40 years. Over this period, the company has built up a solid reputation on the basis of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. The promotion of community success is one of Dow's 2015 Sustainability Goals and the programs that Dow Chile support fall under the following three pillars: Economy, Education and Environment.
Dow Chile is working together with various non-profit organizations to improve the quality of life of different sections of society, focusing on the three pillars of:
Economy: Dow Chile actively supports several entrepreneurship projects in Talcahuano´s region.
Education: The company is supporting the high school Liceo B22 by improving English language teaching, and awards grants to students at the Faculties of Engineering and Agronomy of Chile's Pontificia Universidad Católica. Also, Dow Chile is an active member of the Cultural Corporation for promoting artistic expression and access in Talcahuano.
Environment: Dow is supporting the efforts of the 4th Firefighter Company of Talcahuano to acquire the equipment necessary to attend emergencies, took part in Hualpén's Clean City Campaign, and works, among others, with the following organizations: Little Sisters of the Poor Homes for the Elderly, COALIVI and Fundación Luz (organizations providing help for the blind and visually impaired), Fundación Sagrada Familia (Holy Family Foundation), and the Nocedal Foundation.
