The Dow Chemical Company was founded in 1897 in Midland, Michigan (USA), by Herbert H. Dow and started international operations in 1942. The story of Dow in Latin America began in 1956 when the Company set up a sales office in São Paulo, Brazil. Then in 1967 Dow expanded its Latin American operations to Chile.
Dow Chile currently operates through its subsidiaries: Dow AgroSciences Chile S.A., Petroquímica Dow S.A., Dow Química Chilena S.A., and Rohm and Haas Chile Ltda., meeting its customers' needs with an extensive portfolio of innovative products. The company also has various production and business units, with plants and offices located in Talcahuano, VIII Bío Bío Region, in Curicó, VII Region and in Santiago de Chile (head office).
With an annual turnover in 2010 of US$ 200 million, Dow Chile provides direct long-term employment for 80 individuals, with excellent human resources policies.
