Empty Tank Car Return

Tank cars should be promptly unloaded and returned. Dow's routing directions should always be followed. If routing directions have not been released, call your Dow Customer Service representative for specific instructions.

The following procedures should be carefully followed in preparing the empty tank car for return:

1. Disconnect the steam lines, if used, and blow out the heating coils with compressed air.
2. After removing all connections, replace the closures on all tank car openings.
3. While inside a containment area, wash the unloading lines or hoses and any minor spills on or around the tank car with water.
4. Fasten dome cover securely.
