Jack Broodo is the President of Dow Canada, and the Business Director of the Hydrocarbons and Energy group in Canada. Jack joined Dow process in 1981 where he patented new processes for ethylbenzene and styrene production. In 1988, he shifted to Operations where he supervised styrene, ethylbenzene, aromatic derivatives logistics, olefins production and olefins logistics. Jack began leading the implementation of enterprise software platforms for Dow’s global Hydrocarbons and Energy business in 1995. In 1998, Jack moved to management of commercial and logistics activities for Dow’s Louisiana Olefin Feedstocks complex. His role was changed in 2001 to Senior Commercial Manager for Olefin Feedstocks Business Development and Assets. Jack became Commercial director for Feedstocks business development in 2005 where he developed a number of key initiatives for Dow including the sugarcane to polyethylene proposition that Dow is pursuing in Brazil. In 2007, Jack was named U.S. Business Director, Olefin Feedstock, responsible for all business activities related to feedstocks for the six Dow U.S. based Olefins plants including, optimization of the olefins complex, management of inventory positions, oversight of trading activities, business development, fractionator, pipeline and storage investment and utilization, and systemic hedges. Mr. Broodo holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas, Austin.
