Calgary, Canada - June 02, 2009
Brian Ames, global business director, Olefins, Aromatics and Aromatic Derivatives, announced today that two members of his leadership team will change roles, resulting in Jack Broodo replacing Jeff Johnston as business director for Canada Hydrocarbons & Energy, and President of Dow Canada. In turn, Jeff Johnston will assume Broodo’s Houston-based role as business director for United States Feedstocks.
According to Ames, “Jack and Jeff will bring diverse perspectives, experience and strong expertise to each individual role and region. Jack’s extensive knowledge of manufacturing will deliver great value to Dow Canada business priorities and objectives .”
Broodo, who will work out of Dow’s corporate head office in Calgary, began his career with Dow in 1981 in process research where he patented new processes for both ethylbenzene and styrene production methods. In 1988, he moved to Operations and supervised olefins production and olefins logistics. Seven years later, Jack assumed a leadership position in Hydrocarbons & Energy and continued to assume new leadership roles throughout H&E, when in 2005 he was named the commercial director for Feedstocks Business Development, in which he developed a number of key initiatives for Dow. Jack was named to his current role in 2007.
