Dow Canada

Environment, Health and Safety

At Dow, protecting people and the environment is part of everything we do and every decision we make.

Like our parent company, The Dow Chemical Company, Dow Canada is committed to a “Vision of Zero”—zero incidents, injuries, illnesses and zero environmental harm. Our goal is to eliminate all injuries, prevent adverse environmental and health impacts, reduce waste and emissions, and promote conservation at every stage of the life cycle of our products. Dow Canada and affiliate manufacturing sites at Fort Saskatchewan, Prentiss, Toronto and Varennes contribute to global targets through continuous improvements at the local level.

Dow has also established specific goals pertaining to sustainability, our commitment to ensuring a sound relationship with the world around us. As part of Dow’s 2015 Sustainability Goals, we are working to improve our environmental performance even further. We have set the global goal of reducing our energy intensity by 25% by 2015. This means that we will use 25% less energy per pound of production within 10 years. By reducing energy intensity and the corresponding greenhouse gas emissions, Dow Canada will have reduced its global footprint, thereby contributing to a solution for climate change.
