Developing innovative solutions

Development Center for Plastic Applications: inaugurated in April 2011, the first Dow Brazil laboratory dedicated to the plastics business is focused on developing sustainable solutions in partnership with clients. The site is dedicated to research and products testing in small and large scales for various application areas (special packaging for food, films, industrial packaging, rigid packaging and solutions to the market for polyethylene pipes - pressure pipes, distribution water and irrigation).

Chemists, engineers, and technicians are responsible for meeting customers, testing, and the development of sustainable solutions, such as high performance resins, to reduce the amount of raw material, make packages thinner, and create 100%-recyclable structures.

Thermal Rigid Plastics Technology and Development Center: inaugurated in August 2011, the Technology Center has unique solutions and technologies dedicated to our main markets, including polyurethane, formulated systems, epoxy, and Dow Automotive. These facilities allow clients to witness the pre-polymer preparation process, as well as simulations for flexible foam manufacturing, prototype development and preparation, physical property evaluation and characterization to accelerate the development of new solutions. This lab is integrated to other 12 Technology Centers throughout the world, including locations in the United States, Europe, and Asia, allowing Dow clients to have quick and efficient access to new technologies and global trends.
