Dow Biocides Expands GLUTEX Biosecurity Network
Looks to Continue Expansion in Several Global Regions

Dow Biocides, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company (Dow), announced today that it has reached several distribution agreements during the past year to expand the availability of its portfolio of GLUTEX ™ and UCARSAN™ Sanitizers and Cleaners for animal biosecurity. GLUTEX products, sold as UCARSAN products in select regions due to registrations and trademarks, from Dow Biocides are vital in helping to reduce the risk of spreading deadly diseases and help fight against a wide range of vegetative pathogens that cause animal viruses such as Avian Influenza (H5N1/H6N2).

The GLUTEX and UCARSAN Sanitizers, based on glutaraldehyde technology, have been proven effective for farm facilities through testing performed at the Southern Research Institute (SRI), a Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) approved laboratory in the United States.  GLUTEX Sanitizers all passed the Virucidal Effectiveness Test against the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus H5N1.  Glutaraldehyde has also been identified by the World Health Organization (WHO), as an effective disinfectant against the Avian Influenza virus.
