Mike Lewis Named Regional Commercial Manager USA and Canada, for ANGUS and Dow Biocides

Buffalo Grove, Ill. - August 08, 2006

Mike Lewis has been named regional commercial manager for US A and Canada, for ANGUS Chemical Company (ANGUS), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dow Chemical Company and Dow Biocides, a business group of The Dow Chemical Company. In his position he is responsible for coordinating all business efforts in USA and Canada and providing administrative and business leadership for all employees in the customer application center in this region.

“Mike will play a critical role in the U.S. and Canada, providing customers with local understanding, as he will oversee all administrative and leadership for employees at the customer application center in the U.S.,” said Mark Henning, ANGUS CEO and general manager for Dow Biocides. “Globally, we have eight strategically placed regional centers, which include state-of-the art application labs for ANGUS and Dow Biocides, customer application specialists and technologists, to help solve our customers’ challenges. Mike will ensure that local customers will benefit from our global industry expertise and global processes and technologies in each of our key market areas.”

Mike joined Dow in January 1990 into the commercial development program. In 1991, he accepted a sales position in Chicago with Dow’s plastic-lined pipe business. In 1995, he moved to a sales position in specialty chemicals, and was named a Six Sigma Black Belt for specialties sales in 2000.

In 2001, Mike transferred to ANGUS continuing his role as a commercial Black Belt and became a certified Six Sigma Black Belt in 2002. That same year, Mike returned to the sales organization with ANGUS with responsibility for key ANGUS accounts and North American distribution. With the consolidation of ANGUS and Dow Biocides leadership in 2004, Mike was appointed North American distribution manager for both businesses. Mike was named as North American sales manager in 2005 in addition to his distribution responsibilities.

Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Lowell, Massachusetts in 1989. Mike is also the recipient of two Dow Pinnacle Awards for Sales Excellence in 1998 and 2002. This award honors the ‘best of the best’ of Dow’s sales professionals based on success in meeting customer, business and individual goals.
