Per Westin Named Regional Commercial Manager for Europe Dow Biocides

Horgen, Switzerland - August 08, 2006

Per Westin has been named regional commercial manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa (MEAF), for Dow Biocides, a business group of The Dow Chemical Company. In his role, he is responsible for coordinating all business development efforts, as well as all current and on-going business for Dow Biocides.

“Per will play a critical role in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, providing customers with local understanding, as he will oversee all administrative and leadership for employees at the customer application center in the region,” said Mark Henning, general manager for Dow Biocides. “Globally, we have eight strategically placed regional centers, which include state-of-the art application labs for Dow Biocides, customer application specialists and technologists, to help solve our customers’ challenges. Per will ensure that local customers will benefit from our global industry expertise and global processes and technologies in each of our key market areas.”

Per’s leadership coordination includes, but is not limited to: market plan implementation, sales deployment and technical sales and service, strategic partnerships and alliances, channel decisions and execution.

Per joined Dow in 2001 as part of the Union Carbide Corporation (UCC) acquisition. Per joined UCC in 1988 as a seller of specialty chemicals in the Nordic countries. In 1993, he was named product market and sales manager for specialty chemicals in Europe, MEAF. In 1998, Per moved to the role of product market and sales manager for amines & glycol ethers for Europe, MEAF. Following the UCC acquisition, Per was named marketing manager Europe, MEAF and India for Dow Biocides. Per holds a Master of Science degree in chemical engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden.
