James Thong Named Regional Commercial Manager Asia Pacific, For ANGUS and Dow Biocides

Singapore - August 08, 2006

James Thong has been named regional commercial manager for Asia Pacific, for ANGUS Chemical Company (ANGUS), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dow Chemical Company, and Dow Biocides, a business group of The Dow Chemical Company. In his position, he is responsible for coordinating all business efforts in the Asia Pacific region and providing administrative and business leadership for all employees in the Singapore customer application center.

“James will play a critical role in the Asia Pacific region, providing customers with local understanding, as he will oversee all administrative and leadership for employees at the customer application center in Singapore,” said Mark Henning, ANGUS CEO and general manager for Dow Biocides. “Globally, we have eight strategically placed regional centers, which include state-of-the art application labs for ANGUS and Dow Biocides, customer application specialists and technologists, to help solve our customers’ challenges. James will ensure that local customers will benefit from our global industry expertise and global processes and technologies in each of our key market areas.”

James joined Dow from Union Carbide (UCC) in 1993 as a technical sales executive, and then became product and sales manager within specialty product and polymers. In 2001, he became sales manager for industrial performance products. Prior to the UCC merger with The Dow Chemical Company, James was a part of the UCC-optimal integration team. Most recently, James served as senior account manager for basic and performance chemicals.

James received his Bachelor of Applied Science (honors) degree in analytical chemistry from the University of Science in Malaysia.
